I felt so welcomed by Gil, the owner, from the moment I arrived. He gave me a friendly tour of the hostel and made me feel right at home. The character of the hostel was charming and I loved the small, intimate atmosphere. The location was perfect, especially for starting my Camino walk from the cathedral. It was almost right under the cathedral, which was incredibly convenient. The hostel had all the amenities I needed, including a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with private curtains, and ample storage space. The towel provided was a nice touch.

This hostel is perfectly located near the river, right in the heart of the city center. It's in close proximity to all the main attractions and is easily accessible. the owner and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, providing a great atmosphere. the beds are comfortable, and each one has its own little lamp and curtain for privacy. the kitchen is well-equipped, allowing guests to easily cook their own meals.
The wifi was weak and had poor reception, making it difficult to use mobile data.

The location of this budget hotel is fantastic, with the main square, center, and all the major attractions within easy reach. It's perfect for exploring the city and getting to know the local culture. the rooms and bathrooms are always clean, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable.
The noise from the nearby bar restaurant can be quite disruptive, especially at night when you're trying to sleep peacefully.

Great location, just a short walk from the metro station and close to boats. the hostel had a comfortable common room and kitchen area. I appreciated the fact that each bed had its own electrical plug and reading light.
The hostel was difficult to find initially, as there were no road signs. the staircase and small alley where the hostel is located didn't feel very safe and clean.

I recently stayed at Now Bastidor Jovial for three days and had an amazing experience! The owner made me feel right at home and the location was perfect. It only took me a few minutes to walk to the sea, and the charming neighborhood of Alfama was also within walking distance. The room and bathroom were very clean, and I appreciated the use of the kitchen facilities. The staff, Maria and Ricardo, were friendly and available around the clock. I would highly recommend this affordable and pleasant hostel.

Great location, close to metro and boats. Privacy with 2 beds together. Working ventilators and no street noise. Combined cistern and sink. Free towel and wifi. Late arrival was arranged. Lovely owner. Luggage storage available. Delicious and cheap Portuguese food in the restaurant downstairs. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Friendly and strict family. Good energy. Always treated like a person, not a number. Simple, but effective.
